2. Principles
This website itself does not set cookies, does not use analytics or tracking services and does not embed third-party content. Fonts, images and videos are loaded directly from our own web server. We process personal data only to the extent necessary to operate the website, to answer your enquiries and to send our newsletter. If you subscribe to the newsletter, your details are transmitted to our newsletter service provider Kit; a CAPTCHA may be used in this process (see section 5).
3. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by Namecheap, Inc., 4600 East Washington Street, Suite 300, Phoenix, AZ 85034, USA. When you visit the website, technically necessary data is automatically stored in server log files: IP address, date and time of access, page requested, amount of data transferred, referrer URL, and browser and operating system. This data is used solely to ensure the trouble-free operation and security of the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and is not combined with other data sources.
The control panel of our hosting account (cPanel) automatically processes these access logs approximately every 24 hours and generates access statistics from them; this function cannot be disabled on our hosting plan. We do not use these statistics for marketing purposes or to identify visitors. Archiving of access logs in our hosting account is disabled. For archived access logs that remain in our hosting account, automatic deletion after 30 days is configured; in addition, automatic removal of the previous month’s archived logs is enabled. Independently of this, Namecheap as the hosting provider may keep its own server and security logs; their retention period is determined by Namecheap and lies outside our settings.
The server is located in a data centre in the USA. Data is transferred to the USA on the basis of the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR). Namecheap has appointed the European Data Protection Office (EDPO), Avenue Huart Hamoir 71, 1030 Brussels, Belgium, as its representative in the EU pursuant to Art. 27 GDPR. Further information: Namecheap privacy policy.
4. Contact form and email
If you contact us via the booking form or by email, we process the data you provide (e.g. name, email address, event details and your message) in order to answer your enquiry. The legal basis depends on the purpose of your enquiry:
Booking enquiries (via the booking form or by email to booking@petduo.com): Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual steps, e.g. preparing a booking).
General enquiries (e.g. by email to petduo@petduo.com or demo submissions to cause@petduo.com): Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to enquiries).
Data from the booking form is forwarded by our web server by email to booking@petduo.com and is not stored on the website. Our email mailboxes are operated by Namecheap Private Email. We delete your data once your enquiry has been fully dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
The booking form is part of this website and runs on our own web server. Booking enquiries are reviewed by us and, where necessary, forwarded by us by email to our booking agency, Nature Bookings, for the purpose of handling performance enquiries. If you write to Nature Bookings directly using the email address listed on this website, your message goes straight to Nature Bookings.
5. Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter (“The dispatch”, at the start of every month: shows, new releases, sets and the best of the month behind), we process your email address and, if provided, your country, so that we can tell you about dates in your region. We also store which of our pages you used to subscribe (website or landing page). The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
We use the double opt-in procedure: after subscribing, you receive an email in which you confirm your subscription. Only then will you receive the newsletter. To document your consent, the time of subscription and confirmation and your IP address are stored (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
We use Kit (Kit, Inc., formerly ConvertKit, USA) to send the newsletter. The subscription form on our website does not load any scripts from Kit; your details are transmitted to Kit only when you submit the form. Your data is stored and processed there on our behalf; we have a data processing agreement with Kit (Data Processing Addendum). Data is transferred to the USA on the basis of the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 45, Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR). Kit can record whether a newsletter has been opened and which links were clicked; we use this information only in aggregated form to improve the newsletter. Further information: Kit privacy policy.
To protect against spam and bot sign-ups, Kit uses a CAPTCHA during subscription which, according to Kit, cannot be disabled. It is not shown for every subscription, but for example after repeated subscriptions from the same IP address or other suspicious sign-ups. Kit uses Google reCAPTCHA for this; in that case, an image-selection challenge may appear. Google processes technical data such as your IP address and information about your browser in order to distinguish between humans and automated programs. This processing serves to protect against abusive sign-ups (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Further information: Google privacy policy.
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the unsubscribe link in every email or by email to petduo@petduo.com. After you unsubscribe, your email address is deleted from the mailing list.
6. Links to external platforms
Our website contains links to external platforms (e.g. YouTube, Beatport, Spotify, SoundCloud, Bandcamp, Instagram, Resident Advisor). This content is not embedded. Data is transmitted to these providers only when you click a link; from then on, the privacy policy of the respective provider applies.
7. SSL/TLS encryption
For security reasons, this website uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by “https://” in your browser’s address bar.
8. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR). You can withdraw consent you have given at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR). To do so, simply contact petduo@petduo.com.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The supervisory authority responsible for us is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information:
